PESHAWAR:

Commissioner Peshawar Division, Muhammad Zubair, chaired a meeting of the Divisional Intelligence Coordination Committee on Friday to assess the security situation and bolster actions against extortionists and their associated suspects.

During the meeting, deputy commissioners, district police officers, special branch, intelligence bureau, and city DSPs from all five districts of Peshawar Division—namely Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, and Khyber—provided comprehensive briefings on the security situation and the measures taken in their respective districts throughout September and October.

A collective decision was reached during the meeting to ensure a secure environment for traders by cracking down on extortion activities. The meeting stressed the need for continued efforts in this regard, with explicit directives issued to the police and district administration to collaborate effectively with the special branch and intelligence bureau.
